The Historical Society meet most Saturday mornings at the Palace Community Centre between 10am and 12. The Community mornings have a range of stands and all visitors are welcome to have a look around. Please note there is no Community morning on the first Saturday of each month, none in January and February and only one in December.
The Society offer a range of services including access to our map and photo archive which numbers in excess of 1200 local images from all the surrounding villages. We stage a History events each year where we're joined by other local organisations with the same aims and provide local history talks to interested groups. We provide research assistance with tracing family trees, archeology finds from the area and we have a number of local history books and calenders available for sale raising much needed funds for local charities and organisations.
Membership of the Societies Facebook page is free - see the link to the top left of the screen, full membership of the Society costs £5 per annum which gives you full access to our material, those interested in joined should complete the contact form below or send an email to ibstockhistory@live.co.uk.
Historic walks are available for Ellistown, Heather and Ibstock. £2 each plus £1 postage & package. Sale proceeds either go to the Historical Society or the respective Church.
